Authentic, Timeless, Personal — Wedding Photographer based in Leeds

I photograph weddings as they truly are.
Not staged, not polished — just real moments unfolding as they happen.
The quiet touches. The deep breaths. The laughter you didn’t know I caught.

My approach is gentle and easygoing.
I’ll step in when needed, then disappear into the background so you can just be you.
Posing with personality. No pressure. Just the day, exactly as it felt.

So walk the aisle.
Dance if it feels right.
Hold your love close and let the day carry you —
wherever it happens to be, here in Leeds or beyond.

I’ll be there for it all —
from the first nervous look to the last spark of light.

I am Tim Christian Jones

Hey!, I’m Tim Christian Jones — a passionate Leeds wedding photographer, based near Kirkstall Abbey.  I have grown up with a camera in my hands, a natural progression really — I love photographing weddings across Leeds and further afield. It never feels like work to me.

Before the day I do my best to learn about each couple in meeting, and develop a friendship of sorts. Personality of each couple and everyone else in attendance is what I will capture.

Chosen Your Date? Am I Available? Let’s Talk…

Of course, there’s so much more to see — rather than shout about this and that — I want couples to experience a portfolio that is just that little bit different. A personal touch. Though if you’d just like to Hold the Date, I’ll get back to you quickly.

Please call SMS or WhatsApp me for the fastest response…

What will your day look like — through my eyes?

If you’re starting to think about your wedding photos…

And if it feels like a good fit — I’d love to tell the story.

Wedding Photography

The way it looked. The way it felt. That’s what I’ll photograph.

One photographer. One quiet presence.
One full story, told just as it happened.

It’s just me behind the camera — calm, focused, and fully present.
You won’t feel like you’re in a photoshoot with a team.
There’s no choreography, no extra noise.

Just real moments, gently captured from all the right angles.
Every smile, every tear, every blink of joy —
seen, felt, and remembered.

A Quiet Presence, A Thoughtful Approach

I photograph weddings the way they feel —
the nerves before the vows, the laughter over wine, the tiny moments of magic.
I don’t stress, just comfortable guide you, capturing just your story as it naturally unfolds.

Based in Leeds, I work quietly and carefully,
documenting the day with a calm eye and an open heart.
Whether you’re getting married in a Yorkshire barn or somewhere far beyond,
I’ll be there — camera in hand, ready for whatever the day brings.

I believe wedding photography should feel like you.
Un-staged, full of feeling, and completely personal.
So you can be fully in it — hand in hand, surrounded by your people —
while I capture it all gently in the background.

The kind of photographs that bring you straight back.
To the sound of laughter. To the shape of the light.
To the moment it all became real.

A calm, timeless way of photographing your day.

We’re all pretty used to being in front of a camera now —
photos with friends, quick snaps on our phones,
the real stuff, full of feeling.

That’s the energy I bring into your wedding day.
The way you laugh when no one’s watching.
The small glances. The ease between you.

You won’t find pressure here — or expectations.
Just a calm presence and a quiet way of working
that gives you space to be yourselves.

So when you look back, the photos feel true.
Like the best version of the day —
but still completely, recognisably you.

Why I Might Be the Right Fit

I’ve had a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember.
It’s how I see the world — quietly, carefully, and always with feeling.

Weddings drew me in early, and I’ve never really stopped.
Seventeen years later, and more than 500 stories told,
it still never feels like work.

I’m based in Leeds, and I photograph weddings across Yorkshire and beyond.
Every couple, every day — different.
But what stays the same is how I show up:
calm, unobtrusive, always watching for the real stuff.

If you’re after photographs that feel true to you, and full of heart,
we might just be a good match.

Telling Wedding Stories With Care, Calm, and Heart

Photographing a wedding is one of the most varied and rewarding challenges in photography. In a single day, I might work through sunshine, snow, candlelight, neon dance floors, soft golden hour light, and a hundred different expressions on a hundred faces.

More than anything, I believe the best photography begins with truly understanding each couple. A few don’t want group photos at all — and that’s absolutely fine. But most do, and those moments matter. So I bring calm, quiet confidence and a little humour to help group shots run smoothly (and be enjoyable too). I actually love those just as much as the candid, natural stuff.

Why Group Photos Matter

There’s something powerful about gathering people who may never all be in one place again. I’ve captured treasured moments with grandparents who sadly passed away not long after the wedding — and I’ve seen how deeply thankful couples are to have those photos. I carry that responsibility with care and always give it my best.

I still remember photographing a beautiful wedding at the Village Hotel in Leeds. The groom was terminally ill, and the couple’s love for each other was incredibly moving. I delivered the full gallery the next day and designed their storybook album within a few more. Moments like that stay with you. It’s why I don’t need to over-edit — I work carefully in camera and with intention.

From Passion to Profession

Hi, I’m Tim Christian Jones — a passionate Leeds wedding photographer, based near Kirkstall Abbey. I’ve photographed over 500 weddings across Leeds, Yorkshire, and beyond. I studied photography at Leeds Met, but the real journey started as a kid with a film camera. I’d write down the settings for each shot and wait for the prints to see what worked.

Believe it or not, my first wedding booking happened because of holiday photos. A fellow traveller saw them on the plane home and said they looked like postcards. That led to my first wedding: a garden marquee reception in Leeds. They only booked me for part of the day — but once they saw the photos, they wished I’d stayed for the evening too. That still makes me smile.

A Life Full of Stories and Places

This job has taken me to so many places and introduced me to people I’d never otherwise have met. From a windswept wedding by the sea in Brighton, to a medieval-themed celebration back in 2004 — complete with fire breathers, costumes, and cries of “Bring on the wenches!” (to serve the food, of course) — I’ve loved every minute.

Then there was the tiny four-person wedding in Scotland, ending with a private whisky tasting at Glengoyne Distillery. We stopped in the snow for a few quiet couple portraits beside the lochs and hills. That memory lives with me too.
