Your Wedding Photography Questions, Answered

Planning a wedding comes with a hundred little questions. From how I shoot to what happens after the day, I’ve answered the most common things couples ask me here. If you don’t see what you’re wondering — just reach out. I’m always happy to chat.

💍 What’s your photography style?

I take a natural, documentary-style approach — blending in to quietly capture genuine moments rather than staging poses. Expect real emotion, candid laughs, and heartfelt connections. I do guide you gently for key portraits, ensuring those special shots look beautiful without disrupting your day. This approach aligns with the best modern photojournalists

📅 Can we meet before the wedding?

Absolutely. We’ll connect in person (or by video) to discuss your plans, your venue, and your vision. It helps us both feel relaxed and aligned—and it’s a great way for you to preview photo examples and ask anything you like .

📷 Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes! Engagement shoots are optional —they’re a relaxed time to get used to my style and help you feel confident in front of the camera. They’re perfect for save-the-dates, invites, or just a fun pre-wedding experience

📸 How long have you been shooting weddings?

I’ve been photographing weddings since 2004, capturing over 500+ celebrations throughout Leeds, Yorkshire, and beyond. I’ve had the joy of creating images at venues from city-centre halls to remote distilleries and rustic barns

👥 What if I’m camera-shy?

You’re not alone—I work with many couples who feel the same way. Through gentle direction and conversation, I help you forget the camera is even there. Most couples say they didn’t feel awkward once we got started.

🗺️ Do you travel outside Leeds?

Definitely. Based near Kirkstall Abbey, I regularly photograph weddings across West Yorkshire and even as far South as Brighton, and as far north as Scotland, like intimate winter elopements at Glengoyne Distillery. I’m also happy to travel nationally — just get in touch for those details .

🎒 What equipment do you use?

I shoot with professional cameras, lenses, best memory cards, and batteries — so no moment gets missed. Everything I shoot is backed up in camera, to ensure your memories are safe

☂️ Are you insured?

Yes, absolutely. I carry public liability insurance, and can provide certificates if your venue requests them.

🎞️ How many photos will we receive?

For a full wedding day, expect approximately 800+ final images — covering everything from prep to party. Engagement sessions typically yield 50 – 100 images. Your full gallery is usually ready within 72 hours.

📸 Can we request specific shots or receive a shot list?

Yes! I ask couples for an itinerary and group photo list. While most couples don’t need to do more than that, I’m happy to include any special requests you have .

📦 Do you offer albums and prints?

I offer handcrafted albums from Aspinal of London and GraphiStudio (Italy)—styled either classic or contemporary. Albums can be pre-booked or added after your wedding. Prints and parent copies are also available to suit your keepsake preferences .

🎉 What about elopements or small wedding parties?

Yes! I love intimate ceremonies—whether it’s just the two of you plus witnesses at Tower Bridge or a select few at a snowy distillery in Scotland. These small, meaningful ceremonies are often the most magical to photograph.

👥 Will we need a second shooter?

No — I usually work alone. And that’s just how many of my couples prefer it.

A quiet presence, blending in, never intruding.

I’ve photographed everything from small elopements with just four guests to larger weddings with hundreds.
Each moment is covered with care.

If your plans are more complex, we can talk it through.
But most couples find my solo, documentary style feels more relaxed — and more personal.

📆 How does the booking process work?

It’s all very relaxed.

We’ll usually meet for a coffee — often at Kirkstall Abbey — or chat online if that’s easier.
Happy to meet more than once, too. It’s important you feel comfortable.

To secure your date, there’s a £100 booking fee and a simple email confirmation.
My full terms and conditions are available online, anytime.

A couple of weeks before the wedding, we’ll go over your itinerary and group photo list.
That way, everything flows naturally — and you can just enjoy the day.
