Bio — Tim Christian Jones

I’ve always felt it’s important to know the person who’ll be alongside you on your wedding day — quietly present, observing, and capturing what truly matters as it unfolds.

I’m Tim Christian Jones, a wedding photographer based in Leeds. I photograph weddings across Yorkshire and beyond, drawn to days that feel personal, relaxed, and full of real connection.

I don’t place much value on titles or claims. Wedding photography isn’t something I measure through awards or lists — it’s measured in trust, consistency, and the quiet moments couples recognise when they see their photographs again.

How I Found My Way Into Wedding Photography

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I studied at Leeds Beckett University, graduating with a BA (Hons), but my connection to photography began much earlier — shaped by film, by grain, and by images that felt honest rather than perfect.

Before photographing weddings full time, I worked in retail and spent a summer travelling through Brazil with my camera. Photographing people there — and seeing their reactions when they saw themselves in the images — changed everything. Photography stopped being something I enjoyed, and became something that felt quietly important.

That feeling has never left. I’m drawn to the in-between moments — the glances, the laughter, the pauses — the parts of the day that often matter most when you look back.

I feel genuinely lucky to do this. Photographing weddings never feels like a performance or a production. Just a chance to document people as they are, on a day that means everything to them.

We couldn’t be happier with our beautiful wedding photographs!!!!! Tim is such a fabulous man – friendly, discreet, professional and totally brilliant at his craft. Everyone who has seen our photos have all commented on how great they are and guests at the wedding said how comfortable they were around Tim on the days. We certainly felt relaxed and not pushed into pictures we didn’t want. This shows in the images – they are natural and capture the atmosphere of the day. The photos (over 1000!) were available online within 72 hours which was very exciting for us to view them on our honeymoon. Tim is 100% the photographer you should book.

Life Outside the Camera

Outside of weddings, I’m someone who values calm and balance. I’m a healthy eater, a lover of nature, and happiest around animals — they have a way of reminding you to slow down and be present.

Music has always been a constant, especially the kind that feels tied to a time and a feeling. From Shocking Blue through to Take That and the Backstreet Boys, it’s less about genre and more about the memories it carries.

I spend a lot of time walking locally — places like Kirkstall Abbey and Golden Acre Park are regular favourites — and when I find myself by the coast, a stop at the Magpie Café in Whitby is hard to resist. Simple pleasures, done well.

Tim did an absolutely brilliant job at our wedding and pre-wedding shoot. He is a deft, masterful photographer with an ability to put people at ease and unobtrusively capture candid moments. His natural style of photography is precisely what we were looking for, and he delivered high quality, barely edited photos with astounding promptness and professionalism. Also, his prices are fantastic value for money! Our friends and family around the world have relived this special day through Tim’s beautiful photos, and I’m sure we will enjoy them for a long time to come. I would strongly recommend his services to anyone looking for candid and affordable wedding photography that doesn’t compromise on quality or style! Thank you so much Tim.
