Tim Christian Jones
Hi, I’m Tim — a wedding photographer based in Leeds, Yorkshire. I capture weddings with a calm, storytelling approach where every moment feels real and unposed. Every wedding is unique, every image honest.
On a wedding day, I’m often closer to the couple than anyone else. The emotions are real — and sometimes, it’s hard not to feel them myself. I still remember one Leeds wedding where the bride walked in to Pachelbel’s Canon in D — I had to quietly bite my lip behind the camera.
My journey began with film photography, learning to see light and moments slowly, carefully. That still shapes how I work today — patient, observant, and focused on authentic connection. As a Leeds wedding photographer, I create honest, atmospheric images filled with emotion, calm, and story.
I loved capturing Zoe and Andrew’s engagement session — a mix of laughter, warmth, and real connection. Black and white emphasises the intimacy and personality they bring naturally.
Being based in Leeds means I’m perfectly placed to photograph weddings across the region. From Harrogate and York to the Dales and beyond, I’ve captured weddings in a variety of stunning settings. Every day is different, but my focus is always the same: people first, then the backdrop that frames their story.
I blend in quietly among guests, letting moments unfold naturally. Whether it’s a church ceremony, a countryside barn, or a city celebration, my goal as a Leeds wedding photographer is to capture every moment respectfully — so you’ll always have memories that feel alive and true.
Tender pre-ceremony moments in Yorkshire weddings — unposed, genuine, and full of emotion.
Being a Leeds wedding photographer since 2004 has been a privilege. I still get a thrill capturing moments that are raw, joyful, and entirely real. Every wedding feels unique, and I love that it never truly feels like work—it’s about celebrating people and their stories.
Timeless black and white portrait at Halifax Minster — a natural smile, a shared glance, and the joy of the day.
I love capturing weddings in pure black and white — the subtle gestures, the quiet glances, and the small details that tell your story without distraction. Every Leeds wedding I photograph is unique, and shooting in monochrome lets the emotion speak for itself. It’s photography that feels alive and unposed, yet perfectly timeless. When you photograph people in colour, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls!

Tim did our wedding photos and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Quite easily the best photos we have ever seen and sent to us the next day!
— Gemma & Danny
Gemma and Danny’s wedding began at Leeds Civic Hall beneath the bright city skies — a place full of light, laughter, and elegant history. After their ceremony, everyone gathered at The Lost and Found for a relaxed celebration filled with warmth and stories. I loved how naturally the day unfolded — nothing staged, just honest moments and joy.
Every detail tells its own story — colours chosen with care, light falling just right, a moment of stillness before everything unfolds.
Morning light gently kissed the bouquet and the mirror, capturing the stillness before the day began — calm, soft, and full of detail.
Every wedding is a unique journey. Sometimes it’s the quiet streets near Leeds Civic Hall, other times a winding drive through Yorkshire’s moors, or a sunlit courtyard in York. Wherever your day takes me, my goal is the same — capturing warmth, honesty, and the feeling of truly being there.
Natural bridal preparation at a Leeds wedding — patience, detail, and the gentle energy of the morning captured honestly.
From the first preparations, through the arrival and ceremony, to the reception and all the little moments in between, I document your day with care and attention, ensuring the story of your wedding is told naturally and beautifully.
One of my favourite pre-ceremony shots — the soft morning light catching the bride’s expression, a quiet moment full of emotion and beauty.

Elegant and calm in the cottage kitchen — the bride turns slightly, her dress ruffling at the hem. A quiet, beautiful moment before the ceremony.
A naturally captured reportage moment — the bride stands on the red carpet in Allerton Castle’s bridal suite, her dress flowing behind her as she prepares for the day.
I love moments like this — a little bridesmaid peeping over the sofa, clutching her flowers and smiling at the camera. These are the unscripted parts of a wedding morning that tell such a real story.
Captured naturally, this image is one of those fleeting seconds that remind me why I love documentary wedding photography in Leeds and across Yorkshire.
I’ve always been drawn to how light shapes emotion. This frame was taken just as the bride turned into a shaft of window light — her silhouette forming a simple, beautiful moment that feels both cinematic and timeless.
I love these moments before the ceremony — when the air is still and everything feels possible. The bride stands ready, light catching her veil, while her friend gently admires her shoes. Honest, natural moments like this tell the story of the day before it even begins.
A timeless black and white frame from the Temple of Apollo — the couple hand in hand, the groom’s quiet emotion visible as he glances down during their vows.
This is what I love most about documentary wedding photography — capturing emotion without direction, letting the moment unfold naturally. All photographed by a Leeds wedding photographer who believes in honesty, light, and genuine feeling.
The rain set the scene perfectly. The bride had just arrived, bouquet in hand,
waiting for the clouds to ease.
I love moments like this — reflective, real, and full of quiet story. A
cinematic wedding memory from Wood Hall Hotel near Leeds.
A quiet moment before it all begins. The groomsman adjusting the buttonhole, the groom deep in thought. Natural light and gentle focus — a glimpse of calm at a Yorkshire historic venue.
The mood lightens as the groom chats with his groomsmen, smiles breaking through the anticipation of the day ahead. Natural, unposed, and full of warmth — the story of friendship before “I do.”
I love the calm presence of documentary photography — being part of the day, not apart from it. Here, the groom chats with friends, one guest striking a playful pose while others smile naturally. Moments like this unfold when everyone feels at ease, free to be themselves.
At the foot of the grand staircase, the bride paused — radiant in red, joined by her groom’s two sons. They smiled proudly on either side, ready to walk together towards the ceremony. A moment that blended grace, family, and quiet joy — captured in natural light at a historic Yorkshire venue.
If you choose a location with a beautiful ambience such as this, rest assured your wedding photos will look as amazing. The candle light was enough to capture the ambience. Leeds wedding photography with a genuine difference!
Beautiful colour captured above and unedited black and white photography below.
I have a calm approach to my photography, so everyone feels comfortable with me around. Consequently, I don't change the moments like this that tell the story.
Wedding Reception photography that tells the story. I never use flash, so my images are full of ambience, and thus a true recollection.
Nikki and Mike's wedding photography request was no posing or group photos. Nikki and Mike stood by the piano, just outside the door to the evening reception.

What an amazing cake and table decorations at a wedding with many children to cater for. A lovely Mad Hatter cake.
Sometimes it's hard to talk about a photo, because the image itself is worth a 1000 words. I love to capture the Detail and Colour at each wedding.
